Analyze key psychological and sociological issues related to hackers and the potential impact on individual organizations and society as a whole.Course Objective
Analyze key psychological and sociological issues related to hackers and the potential impact on individual organizations and society as a whole.
The class discusses ethical and nonethical hacker personalities and motivations, and profiling tools used by law enforcement in combating cyber threats.
Topic 1: Hacker Motivation and Threat Mitigation
Explain what psychological factors can often motivate hackers (eg, addiction, crime, greed, status, etc….), and give examples where these motivations were a factor in a cyberattack.
What can organizations do to be more proactive in identifying and mitigating hacker threats?
Background:
1. Crime and Punishment: The Psychology of Hacking in the New Millennium [2003 – older but, I believe, still relevant and a solid short introduction]
2. Understanding a Hacker’s Mind: A Psychological Insight into the Hijacking of Identities [2004 – RSA. Also still useful]
3. The Risk Propensity and Rationality of Computer Hackers [2010 ]
Topic 2: Ethical and Nonethical Hackers
As the cybersecurity field expands, the larger community discourse leads to changes in terminology. While some of our course materials may differentiate between the terms “hackers” and “crackers” as threat actors, we will use the terms “ethical hackers” and “nonethical hackers” to make the same differentiation.
How do the profiles for ethical and nonethical hackers differ? Should these psychological attributes make a difference as to the amount of, or nature of the punishment meted out to those who are caught? Why or why not?
Describe how certain factors can also motivate ethical hackers, or those who defend against cyberattacks (sometimes called cyber warriors or cyber patriots)? (eg, revenge, patriotism, fear of government abuse, pride, respect for the law, ownership, anger, retaliation….)
Background:
Hacking for the Homeland: Patriotic Hackers vs. Hacktivists [2013 – abstract only.

Discussion questions. At least 150- 200 words each with references.
Identify one area of nursing research that has improved patient outcomes. State the study and its impact on patient care. How have these findings changed your nursing practice? What similarities and differences can you identify between the nursing process and the research process? Explain your answer.Nursing research is used to study a dilemma or a problem in nursing. Examine a problem you have seen in nursing. Why should it be studied? Justify your rationale.

prepare an evidence-based practice (EBP) presentation on a topic of your choice that is relevant to advanced nursing practice education, leadership, quality improvement, or change

prepare an evidence-based practice (EBP) presentation on a topic of your choice that is relevant to advanced nursing practice education, leadership, quality improvement, or change
Topic: Best wound care approach for patients with foot ulcers
(Or it can be a different topic, but needs to be approved first)
During this lesson, you will use the PICOT questioning format/formula to develop an answerable research question. All elements are listed below:
• P: Population/disease (age, gender, ethnicity, disorder)• I: Intervention or variable of interest (exposure to a disease, risk behavior, prognostic factor)• C: Comparison (a placebo or “business as usual” such as no disease, absence of risk factor, or prognostic factor B)• O: Outcome (risk of disease, accuracy of a diagnosis, rate of occurrence of adverse outcome)• T: Time (the time it takes to demonstrate an outcome; e.g., the time it takes for the intervention to achieve an outcome or how long participants are observed)prepare an evidence-based practice (EBP) presentation on a topic of your choice that is relevant to advanced nursing practice education, leadership, quality improvement, or change
Your presentation should include:1. Identification of an advanced practice nursing issue or practice problem of concern2. Design a research question using the PICOT format3. A brief literature review and findings related to best practices with at least three scholarly resources cited in APA (6th ed.) format4. Plan, Do, Study, Act Process that could be used5. Any implications that the investigation might have for nursing practice
Rubric:
The presentation includes an appropriate topic identification related to an advanced practice nursing issue or practice problem of concern. The topic is clearly stated in the introduction, developed and explained well through the literature review, and there is an appropriate conclusion statement.
PICOT Question DesignPopulation is fully defined and present in the research question. Includes specific interventions, identifies comparisons, and presents appropriate outcomes in a timely manner for the question. Overall, a well-built question using the PICOT method.
Literature ReviewIncludes a brief overview of the literature in the presentation and includes relevant details.
Plan/Do/Study/Act ProcessPresentation includes a description of the study, study design, rationale, and inclusion of sampling information that the student is using.
Implications to NursingThe significance and applicability to nursing is included and well presented.

0340m. The spring has force constant 855N/m.

A 2.90 kg block on a horizontal floor is attached to a horizontal spring that is initially compressed 0.0340 m. The spring has force constant 855 N/m. The coefficient of kinetic friction between the floor and the block is 0.35 . The block and spring are released from rest and the block slides along the floor.
What is the speed of the block when it has moved a distance of 0.0150 m
from its initial position? (At this point the spring is compressed 0.0190 m)
(I got an answer 0.473 m/s but it still incorrect about the number or units of velocity)

Create a professional poster summarizing your planned evidence-based practice project. The poster should include the problem, the research evidence used to validate the project’s need, the project’s planned intervention and evaluation, and the project’s anticipated outcomes. Consider next steps to continue forward progress of your work in nursing practice. Create your 24” X 36” poster using MS PowerPoint poster template. The poster should be informative, colorful and eye-catching including the title and your name and current credentials. Use the rubric below to help you complete this project.

Describe, analyze, and evaluate the usefulness of the theory to your nursing practice.
Describe, analyze, and evaluate the usefulness of the theory to your nursing practice. Review the instructions and grading criteria for the Scholarly Papers. The first step in understanding a theory is to identify the components that comprise the theory. This guideline helps you identify and describe a theory by posing a set of questions to answer as you read an author’s narrative about a particular theory.1. What is the purpose for the theory? Why was the theory created? Is the purpose broad or narrow in scope (i.e., does the theory refer to a small range of phenomena or a broad range)? Is the purpose of the theory to create meaning, describe a phenomenon, explain a phenonmenon, or predict a phenomenon? Is the theory a grand nursing theory, conceptual model, middle-range theory, or practice theory?2. What are the concepts? How many concepts are there? Are there major and minor concepts? Are there subconcepts organized under other concepts? Are the concepts broad or narrow in scope? Are the concepts abstract or concrete? Are the concepts empiric (measureable)? Are the concepts defined? Are they defined so that the meaning is clear?3. What are the major relationships within the theory? Are some concepts included in several relationships? Do relationships create meaning and understanding? Do they describe, explain, or predict?4. Does the author provide an outline or diagram of the theory? If yes, is the structure congruent with the narrative? Could more than one structure represent the theory? If the author does not provide a diagram, what does the theory look like to you?5. What are the assumptions that underlie the theory? Does the author have an obvious value orientation?

The ATM AAL 3/4 protocol provides for reliable end-to-end transmission of SAR and CPCS PDUs, as well as multiplexing of multiple data streams on the same virtualconnection, in ATM networks.
(a) Assume that AAL 3/4 is being used and that the receiver is in the idle state. Two blocks of user data are then transmitted as two separate sequences of SAR PDUs.Given that the EOM SAR PDU of the first sequence is lost, will this error be detected at the receiving end and, if so, how will it be detected? If this error can bedetected in more than one way, be sure to enumerate each detection method.
