Adolescent pregnancy

Adolescent pregnancy is viewed as a high-risk situation because it poses serious health risks for the mother and the baby. Describe various risk factors or precursors to adolescent pregnancy. Research community and state resources devoted in adolescent pregnancy and describe at least two of these resources. Research the teen pregnancy rates for the last 10 years for your state and community. Has this rate increased or decreased? Discuss possible reasons for an increase or decrease.

inquiries

Answer only two of the inquiries below.

2. A number of medical centers around the United States now offer “finders’ fees” to physicians for referring patients to researchers who are conducting trials of new drug therapies, the side effects of which are not yet known.
one researcher, for example, was offering physicians a $350 payment for each referred patient who enrolled in the research project.   Many physicians accept the fees and make the referrals, apparently without suffering pangs of conscience.  Are their actions ethical?

3. From 1940 to 1970, more than 4,000 radiation experiments were performed on tens of thousands of Americans, many of them poor and uneducated, without their informed consent. Examples of alleged incidents: children in a Massachusetts orphanage were fed radioisotopes; 829 pregnant Tennessee women were fed radioactive iron; patients in Rochester, New York were injected with plutonium; cancer patients in Cincinnati received heavy doses of gamma rays.  Not all of these experiments can be attributed to researchers’ ignorance of the harmful effects of radiation; the main purpose of the experiments was to identify those effects rather than to cure the patients. Even so, the researchers do not seem to have thought they were committing a moral offense. Were they?

10. The consciences of the people in the following cases are confused.  As a result, the people cannot decide whether the actions they are contemplating are morally right.  Decide for them and present the rationale for your position.

d. An airline pilot goes for his regular medical checkup.  The doctor discovers that he has developed a heart murmur.  The pilot has only a month to go before he is eligible for retirement.  The doctor knows this and wonders whether, under these unusual circumstances, she is justified in withholding the information about the pilot’s condition.

Scenario Information

Scenario Information

You are assuming the role of the project manager for a company called SuperPacks to provide a new backpack product with a built-in refrigeration pouch and radio module. Your customer for this project is the U.S. Army, Ground Forces and Special Operations. As the project manager for your team, you will be submitting to your manager a project management report.

Instructions

As the Project Manager, your manager has asked you to prepare a report on unplanned events that have occurred. You have been asked to present this report to a group of managers, and should discuss your course of action for two unplanned events (below) that have occurred for SuperPacks. You will need to analyze the impact of these events in your project management report as a presentation; this can be PowerPoint. Make sure you address the following questions in your presentation as you will be giving it to the management team.

Discuss your analysis on the following events: 8 slides minimum, apa references

Be sure to include notes this PowerPoint will be presented as a live presentation

  1. It is discovered the refrigerated module is too large for the designed refrigerated backpack pouch. What is your course of action? 2 examples
  2. The subcontractor assigned to build the radio module for the backpack has shut down. What is your course of action?Provided verbiage on the course of action for the subcontractor assigned to build the radio module being shut down using 3 examples.
  3. Discuss four areas affected by these unexpected events. Three of the areas of the project affected by the events should include changes to budget, human capital, and impact to schedule. Identify one additional area affected by these events. 3 examples

future role in advance practice

How well do you know your future role in advance practice?

The elevator door opens; you step on and find yourself face to face with a known skeptical colleague, who inquires “what are you doing in your profession”? It’s your chance to share, define and possible persuade this person about your chosen role of nursing in advance practice. You have 10 floors, roughly 90 seconds to make an impression. Draft an “Elevator Speech” (approximately 300 words) reflecting the conversation about your future role in your program of study.  In three detailed paragraphs, address why you have chosen this role (your passion) and define steps to ascertain the role including certification criteria and how the role will impact patient outcomes (how you will make a difference).

Support your work with evidence based research. For example, in conversation you tell the person A recent study by Taylor in 2016 showed that NPs were efficient as MDs at treating primary care problems. (Reference at the end)

Professional Development Plan

Using the ‘Week 4 | Part 4’ section of your Academic Success and Professional Development Plan Template presented in the Resources, conduct an analysis of the elements of the research article you identified. Be sure to include the following:

  • The topic of interest you have selected
  • Correctly formatted APA citation of the article you selected, along with link or search details
  • Identify a professional practice use of the theories/concepts presented in the article.
  • Analysis of the article using the Research Analysis Matrix section of the template
  • Write a 1-paragraph justification explaining whether or not you would recommend the use of this article to inform professional practice
  • Write a 2- to 3-paragraph summary that you will add to your Academic Success and Professional Development Plan that includes the following:
    • Describe your approach to identifying and analyzing peer-reviewed research
    • Identify at least two strategies that you would use that you found to be effective in finding peer-reviewed research
    • Identify at least one resource you intend to use in the future to find peer-reviewed research

symptoms of clinical deterioration

  1. The assessment tasks requires you to:
    1. Identify and discuss two (2) signs or symptoms of clinical deterioration associated with the presenting problem, from chosen case study. This discussion should consider the potential impact of case study data (e.g. pathology results, past medical history) on the health status of the patient in the chosen case.
    2. Following on from your presented discussion associated with point one (1), develop a clinical plan of care which identifies:

One (1) priority of clinical care and;

Discuss three (3) nursing interventions that directly address the identified clinical priority. The discussion should refer to relevant clinical assessments. Measurable outcome parameters for each intervention will be discussed to justify the intervention and evaluate its efficacy. Discussion is to be supported with contemporary research.

clinical problem

eview the Topic Materials and the work completed in NRS-433V to   formulate a PICOT statement for your capstone project.

A PICOT starts with a designated patient population in a particular   clinical area and identifies clinical problems or issues that arise   from clinical care. The intervention should be an independent,   specified nursing change intervention. The intervention cannot require   a provider prescription. Include a comparison to a patient population   not currently receiving the intervention, and specify the timeframe   needed to implement the change process.

Formulate a PICOT statement using the PICOT format provided in the   assigned readings. The PICOT statement will provide a framework for   your capstone project.

In a paper of 500-750 words, clearly identify the clinical problem   and how it can result in a positive patient outcome.

Make sure to address the following on the PICOT statement:

  1. Evidence-Based Solution
  2. Nursing Intervention
  3. Patient Care
  4. Health Care Agency
  5. Nursing   Practice

mental health disorders

For this Assignment, as you examine the client case study in this week’s Learning Resources, consider how you might assess and treat adult and older adult clients presenting symptoms of a mental health disorder.

Learning Objectives

Students will:

  • Evaluate      clients for treatment of mental health disorders
  • Analyze      decisions made throughout diagnosis      and treatment of clients with mental health disorders

Examine Case 2: You will be asked to make three decisions concerning the diagnosis and treatment for this client. Be sure to consider co-morbid physical, as well as mental factors that might impact the client’s diagnosis and treatment.

At each Decision Point stop to complete the following:

  • Decision #1: Differential      Diagnosis
    • Which Decision did you select?
    • Why did you select this Decision?       Support your response with evidence and references to the Learning       Resources.
    • What were you hoping to achieve       by making this Decision? Support your response with evidence and       references to the Learning Resources.
    • Explain any difference between       what you expected to achieve with Decision #1 and the results of the       Decision. Why were they different?
  • Decision #2: Treatment Plan for      Psychotherapy
    • Why did you select this Decision?       Support your response with evidence and references to the Learning       Resources.
    • What were you hoping to achieve       by making this Decision? Support your response with evidence and       references to the Learning Resources.
    • Explain any difference between       what you expected to achieve with Decision #2 and the results of the       Decision. Why were they different?
  • Decision #3: Treatment Plan for      Psychopharmacology
    • Why did you select this Decision?       Support your response with evidence and references to the Learning       Resources.
    • What were you hoping to achieve       by making this Decision? Support your response with evidence and       references to the Learning Resources.
    • Explain any difference between       what you expected to achieve with Decision #3 and the results of the       decision. Why were they different?

Also include how ethical considerations might impact your treatment plan and communication with clients and their family. ( please see attachment).
