21st-century healthcare dynamics

Instructions

New changes in healthcare are causing rising concerns with how healthcare organizations may be performing. With that being stated, you will focus on the following areas as to explain and evaluate operational performance and market trends in this 21st-century healthcare dynamics.

Create a 2-4 page detailed research paper that provides at least 1-3 or more examples or explanations that will address the following healthcare issues:

  1. Examine the importance of business ethics vs. social responsibility.    Ex. Developing codes of conduct that is adverse to corporate social responsibility.
  2. Compare and Contrast the use of data analytics in a data-driven society without the use of a proper IT software program to collect business intelligence.    Ex. Some providers are not using current and more applicable software programs to analyze their data; instead, they are relying on memory and checking hard copies folders to analyze patient outcomes.
  3. Explain the gap in making decisions and the validity of healthcare trends on performance without the correct data. Ex. Lack of using EMR or EHR may cause gaps in decision-making and accuracy of collecting appropriate data, which may subsequently impact performances and trends.
  4. Explained 2 importance business ethics vs. social responsibility occurrences. Provided 2 examples of business ethics vs social responsibility in a healthcare organization. Compared and contrasted 2 uses of data analytics, without a proper IT program to collect business intelligence. Provided 2 examples of data analytics use or business intelligence in a healthcare organization.Explained 2 gaps in making healthcare decision and its impact on performance. List 2 example of how a healthcare organization performance is impacted.

health care environment

Throughout this course, you have identified, examined, and provided individual as well as collaborative analysis on multiple facets of risk management in the health care setting.

Addressing the knowledge you have gained, and building on that knowledge to add your evaluation of the role that the managed care organization (MCO) plays in today’s health care environment, develop a 250-500 word reflection to incorporate the following:

  1. What is a health care organization’s administrative role regarding oversight of risk management policies and ensuring compliance with managed care organization (MCOs) standards?
  2. What is your assessment of the value provided to an organization that stems from the regulatory statutes of a typical MCO? Consider the establishment of conflict resolution and risk management strategies within the health care organization from the employer/employee perspective as well as in regards to patient conflict circumstances.
  3. What MCO responsibilities pertain to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) and Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) focus on fraud, waste, and abuse laws?

Health Maintenance and Screening Plans

No Plegarism please, assignment will be checked with Turnitin.

Will need minimum of 3 pages, title, and reference page APA Style, double spaced, times new romans, font 12, and and (3 references within 2014-2018) with intext citations).

Health Maintenance and Screening Plans

Clinical preventive services, such as routine disease screening and scheduled immunizations, are key to reducing death and disability and improving the Nation’s health. Yet, despite the fact that these services are covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and many private insurance plans under the Affordable Care Act, millions of children, adolescents, and adults go without clinical preventive services that could protect them from developing a number of serious diseases or help them treat certain health conditions before they worsen.

Discuss preventative services and ways to promote and overcome the barriers in your clinical practice to deliver holistic care including the recommended services for all patients across a lifespan. Please include examples, evidence-based information and references to support your work.

Investigating Pandemics and Epidemics

Investigating Pandemics and Epidemics

Some of the most notable epidemics include the bubonic plague in the 14th century, smallpox in the 18th century, and influenza in the 20th century. Reportedly, the bubonic plague caused over 137 million deaths, whereas the death toll associated with influenza was 25 million (Ernst, 2001). These are dramatic examples of the kinds of acute outbreaks that led to the practice of epidemiology.

Many epidemiologists and health care professionals are concerned about the next potential pandemic or epidemic. With the increased mobility of society, the spread of infectious diseases continues to pose a serious threat. For this Discussion, you will investigate pandemics and epidemics using epidemiological tools, and you will consider strategies for mitigating disease outbreaks.

To prepare:

  • Using      the Learning Resources, consider examples of emerging or reemerging      infectious diseases that are occurring locally, nationally, or abroad.      Then, select one example on which to focus.
  • Explore      the epidemiological investigative process used to identify the emerging or      reemerging infectious disease or outbreak.
  • Examine      your selected infectious disease using the epidemiologic triangle and      vector theory.
  • Consider      how health care interventions may reduce the emergence or reemergence of      infectious diseases.

By tomorrow 04/25/2018 12pm, write a minimum of 550 words in APA format with at least 3 scholarly references from the list of required readings below. Include the level one headings as numbered below”

Post a cohesive response that addresses the following:

1) Identify the emerging or reemerging infectious disease you selected.

2) Discuss the investigative process used to identify the outbreak, and describe its effect using descriptive epidemiology (person, place, and time).

3) Apply the epidemiologic triangle and vector theory to your selected outbreak.

4) Evaluate how prior health care interventions, or lack thereof, created the conditions that allowed this infectious disease to emerge.

5) Discuss how the disease outbreak might have been avoided or mitigated. Include agencies, organizations, and resources that could have supported these efforts. If appropriate, consider ongoing efforts to control the outbreak.

Balance and Gait Evaluation

In order to gain an insight into the world of elder adults, it is important to understand how they view themselves and the values they hold. Additionally it is important to assess and determine his/her needs and establish appropriate interventions for this individual.

By the due date assigned, choose an older adult to interview. This cannot be a patient in your clinical setting. You can use a friend, family member, or co-worker. The older adult should be 65 years or older. Use the format provided to record the responses. A list of questions is available for you to start with. Include 2–3 questions of your own to get a complete picture of the older adult. Summarize your findings and also contrast the responses with findings in your readings and other current literature.

Download a patient questionnaire. This form should be used as an example.

After gaining permission, conduct a physical and mental functional assessment of the older adult you have chosen. Review your readings for the process of functional assessment.

Make use of the tools discussed this week to complete a comprehensive assessment of your patient. Search the Internet for resources on these tools.

  1. Tinetti Balance and Gait Evaluation
  2. Katz Index of Activities of Daily Living
  3. Assessment of Home Safety
  4. The Barthel Index

Make sure the older adult is clearly identified on the tools. Do not include their name, but do include professional or other designation, and age. Your name should also be identified on the tool. (This should be a part of your Appendix.)

Compare and contrast the age-related changes of the older person you interviewed and assessed with those identified in this week’s reading assignment. During this data analysis process provide at least 4–6 preliminary issues that you have identified. Identify three alterations in health that you would propose and describe them. Identify a minimum of three comprehensive interventions for each problem.

Make sure that you integrate personal cultural awareness and cultural competency.

Paper should be 5–6 pages, not including the questionnaire or tools used. These should be attached as an Appendix. Remember to use headings to identify the different sections in your paper.

On a separate references page, cite all sources using APA format.

Self-care plan

Week 11/Module 11 Discussion Assignment
Posted on: Sunday, June 9, 2019 4:41:26 PM CDT

Over the past 2-3 quarters, you have encountered much opportunity to learn, and therefore, much opportunity to suffer. The Greek Poet, Aeschylus (523-456 BCE), wrote that “to learn is to suffer.” He went on to comment that in time, suffering comes to have meaning through our own processing of the experience, giving us understanding and wisdom.

For resilience, one must find ways to reduce the burden of stress. Self-care (physical, social, psychological and spiritual engagement), reflexivity (coming to know one’s strengths, development opportunities, and biases), integrity (recognizing and validating one’s moral compass for right and wrong guided by personal and professional codes of ethics), and comradery (nurturing and maintaining professional and personal associations and friendships with colleagues and classmates) are all ways in which we nourish ourselves, enrich our journey and deepen our commitment to success.

For this last discussion assignment, consider the following ways to address stress, described above: write about the 4 item list below

Self-care plan
Reflexivity in learning
Self-identification with integrity
Comradery amongst classmates
Share with your classmates how you will manage your stress using one of these four stress management strategies in the coming months as you continue to progress through the program. Be specific. Include your reasoning (evidence from your textbook and/or other sources) to support your plan.

Respond thoughtfully to your classmates no later than Friday, 6/14/19, at 11:59pm since that is the actual end of the quarter. In your responsive posts, include your agreement or disagreement with the plan and evidence presented to you. Support your critique with evidence from the literature (textbook and/or other sources).

As usual, submit your own, original work, abiding by APA formatting for citations and references.

neurological disorde

The final discussion is a concluding argument revealing a “defensible solution to the topic “What  facts about neurological disorder help to relate the condition of spinal cord tumor/cancers to neurological dysfunction”, supported by the “evidence” explained in the first two papers.

  • Revise and re-order each of the informative papers you have composed for the course, placing them in a strategic arrangement that supports the final section of this final paper, your argument for a “defensible solution” to the health care issue you have studied, researched, and written about. As a result, this final paper will be comprehensive and summative.
  • Important: this final paper should include a newly composed introductory section, and a final conclusion section which presents your discussion of (and argument for) the solution. Your argument for the defensible solution that you propose should be the focus of this paper.

Your paper must:

  • Be 15–20 pages in length
    • Title page (1 page)
    • Introduction (1–2 pages)
    • Reworked informative papers (10-15 pages)
    • Conclusion (1–2 pages)
    • References page (1–2 pages)
  • Reference 12–15 scholarly, peer-reviewed resources (compiled by combining all of the references from your Perspective of Inquiry papers and any additional resources you use in this final paper.)
  • Follow all APA formatting guidelines for this paper, with each of your previous four papers being presented as “sections” of this fifth paper, using Level 1 headings.
  • Use the provided template. Click for more options

Refer to the rubric for evaluation details and to assist in preparing the paper.

Due: Submit by 11:59 pm (Pacific time) the evening before the Week 8 onsite class
Points: 150

Team Meeting Notes:

  • In your team meetings this week (both in-class and online) focus on sharing your solutions as you develop them.
  • Pay attention to (and learn from) the unique aspects of each team member’s solutions, but do not reference them in your final paper. (You will reference one another’s solutions in your final presentation assignment.)

Other Important Notes:

  • Use the Learning Resources that address introductions and conclusions to help understand best practices and procedures for argumentative paper
  • That being said, realize that this paper is unique, as it is a culmination of Informative Papers (rather than a traditional argumentative essay). Use the aforementioned Learning Modules as guidelines for best practices, not as procedural requirements.
  • It is highly recommended that you compose the conclusion section of your paper (your solution) first, then move backward into the introduction, and finally the abstract.
  • Use the final paper template provided, adapting the titles of each of your four short papers as headings in this final paper, and following instructions and examples provided in our in-class meeting.
  • Make sure to review the SafeAssign report generated when you submit your paper, and address and revise any portions of your work which might be plagiarized.
