treatment plan.

Mr. P is a 76-year-old male with cardiomyopathy and congestive heart failure who has been hospitalized frequently to treat CHF symptoms. He has difficulty maintaining diet restrictions and managing his polypharmacy. He has 4+ pitting edema, moist crackles throughout lung fields, and labored breathing. He has no family other than his wife, who verbalizes sadness over his declining health and over her inability to get out of the house. She is overwhelmed with the stack of medical bills, as Mr. P always took care of the financial issues. Mr. P is despondent and asks why God has not taken him.

· Describe your approach to care.

· Recommend a treatment plan.

· Describe a method for providing both the patient and family with education and explain your rationale.

· Provide a teaching plan (avoid using terminology that the patient and family may not understand).

·

In a short essay (500-750 words), answer the Question at the end of Case Study 1. Cite references to support your positions.

he Literature Review Process

Discussion—

Discussion—The Literature Review Process

As the community assessment is completed and the statement of the health problem is clearly stated and appropriately quantified using the available epidemiologic tools, one must now start looking at an adequate and suited intervention or policy to address the particular public health problem. The availability of scientific literature is an invaluable source of information to begin searching for the most ideal and best-suited intervention, program, or policy to specifically address the targeted objectives emanating from the community assessment.

Because of the considerable amount of scientific literature, a systematic approach to literature searching is imperative to locate credible, high-quality evidence as efficiently and exhaustively as possible. To be systematic, a guide must be applied to aid in what literature is important, where to search for related literature, how to find evidence-based literature, and how to organize the results of a search.

In your analysis and evaluation of the three related peer-reviewed scientific articles for Week 3 Project, please share with your peers any difficulties, strategies, or techniques that you developed, discovered, or utilized to simplify or enhance the literature review process.

The steps for reviewing the Scientific Literature and Organizing Information are listed below. Please note that you do not need to follow the same order.

  • Review the issue statement and purpose of the search
  • Select a bibliographic database
  • Identify key words
  • Conduct the search
  • Refine the search
  • Select and organize documents for review
  • Abstract pertinent information from each document
  • Summarize and apply the literature review

If you found that some sections of the literature review process were more difficult compared to some other steps, please talk about this difficulty in this discussion thread.

Provide reasons or evidence in support of your responses.

Write your initial response in approximately 300 words.

By the due date assigned, post your response to the appropriate Discussion Area. Through the end of the week, review and comment on at least two peers’ responses. Consider commenting on their difficulties and your thoughts for suggestions or resolutions.

Support your answers with examples and research. Your responses should clarify your understanding of the topic. They should be your own, original, and free from plagiarism. Follow the APA format for writing style, spelling and grammar, and citation of sources.

Evaluation Criteria:

  • Reviewed the issue statement and purpose of the search.
  • Selected a bibliographic database.
  • Identified key words.
  • Conducted the search.
  • Refined the search.
  • Selected and organized documents for review.
  • Abstracted pertinent information from each document.
  • Summarized and applied the literature review.
  • Shared with peers any difficulties, strategies, or techniques that you developed, discovered, or utilized to simplify or enhance the literature review process.
  • Responses demonstrated in-depth research and analysis.
  • Justified your answers with appropriate research and reasoning.
  • Commented on the postings of at least two peers.

nursing industry

Me    5 posts   Re: Topic 6 DQ 2  Great work Rebecca, also In the last few years, the nursing industry has experiences high rates of nurse turnover which has caused significant nursing shortage globally. Graduate nurses are also leaving there jobs just after one year of employment. Healthcare organizations need to find new ways of dealing with this crisis. One of the best solutions to this problem is the development of a unit–based preceptor program to help healthcare organization orient new nurses in their workplace successfully (Ke, Kuo & Hung, 2017). Preceptors would help new nurse to acquire the skills needed to deliver their duties effectively. This would also help them create strong relationships with the existing workforce which is essential in the healthcare system. The preceptors should also assess the new hire’s skills (Vihos, Myrick & Yonge, 2019). This is intended to help the preceptors determine the new nurse’s strengths and weakness in the orientation process. A good preceptor program improves competency critical thinking, job satisfaction and ultimately reduces the rate of nurse turn over.  References  Ke, Y., Kuo, C., & Hung, C. (2017). • Part 3: Comparison of Approaches.
    • Part 4: Analysis of Relevant Leadership Characteristics and Skills.
  • Your analysis should be 4–7 pages in length.

Note: Remember, you can submit all, or a portion, of your draft plan to Smarthinking for feedback before you submit the final version for this assessment. However, be mindful of the turnaround time for receiving feedback, if you plan on using this free service.

Field of study:  Nursing

In this course, you will be complete a 2-part assignment in which you conduct research about a population of focus, develop a PICOT statement, and write a Literature Review. The PICOT statement and Literature Review you write in this course can be used for your evidence-based practice project in the next course so be sure to select an issue you want to continue working on in your next course.

PICOT (Population/Problem, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome, and Time to achieve the outcome) is a method that helps clarify the qualities needed to create a good question out of a practice issue or problem affecting the population of focus. Additionally, the information derived from a good PICOT makes it easier to perform a literature search in order to find translational research sources that can be used to address the clinical problem.

Use a national, state or local population health care database to research indicators of disparity. Choose a mortality/morbidity indicator to identify a clinical problem or issue that you want to explore pertaining to a population of focus. Use this indicator to begin to formulate a PICOT and conduct research on the population.

Write a 750-1,000-word paper that analyzes your research and focuses on the population you have chosen. Describe the population’s demographics and health concerns, and explain how nursing science, health determinants, and epidemiologic, genomic, and genetic data may impact population health management for the selected population. Provide an overview of a potential solution for solving the health issue related to your population and the intended PICOT statement. Describe how the solution incorporates health policies and goals that support health care equity for the population of focus.

You are required to cite three to five sources to complete this assignment. Sources must be published within the last 5 years and appropriate for the assignment criteria and nursing content.

Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.

Part 2 (second paper)

In Part A, you described the population and quality initiative related to your PICOT (Population/Problem, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome, and Time to achieve the outcome) statement. In this assignment, you will formalize your PICOT and research process. Use the GCU Library to perform a search for peer-reviewed research articles. Find five peer-reviewed primary source translational research articles. In a paper of 1,250-1,500 words, synthesize the research into a literature review. The literature review should provide an overview for the reader that illustrates the research related to your particular PICOT. Include the following:

  1. Introduction: Describe the clinical issue or problem you are addressing.
  2. Methods: Describe the criteria you used in choosing your articles
  3. Synthesize the Literature: Part A: Discuss the main components of each article (subjects, methods, key findings) and provide rationale for how this supports your PICOT; Part B: Compare and contrast the articles: Discuss limitations, controversies, and similarities/differences of the studies.
  4. Areas of Further Study: Analyze the evidence presented in your articles to identify what is known, unknown, and requires further study.

You are required to cite five to 10 sources to complete this assignment. Sources must be published within the last 5 years and appropriate for the assignment criteria and nursing content.Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.
