Case Brief

Complete two case briefs using the same format that you used last week. The cases you must choose to are to brief from are: Feres v. United States, 340 U.S. 135 (1950); Minns v. United States, 155 F.3d 445 (1998); and Romero v. United States,954 F.2d 223 (1992). You should locate these three cases using LexisNexis through the APUS Library. I suggest that you read and brief all three of them for the final assignment however you are only required to brief two of them for the grade this week. Note that these case briefs are also relevant to the final assignment in this class and so are also important beyond this one grade.

Important Note:

Case briefs are used to highlight the key information within a case for use by the briefer, as court cases can be quite lengthy. When writing case briefs, all information must be properly cited. Make sure you are not copying and pasting from your source. Most of the material should be paraphrased; quotations should make up no more than 10% of the brief. Since the purpose is to highlight and summarize key information, merely copying and pasting from the case does not accomplish this goal. You must summarize the facts in your own words, using quotations sparingly.
