Explain, through an example, how a non-operations project could have a significant impact on operations.
The chapter highlights three steps to bring synergy between operations and projects. Explain how each step is a win-win for the managers within operations and the managers of projects.
What makes it so difficult for operations managers to dedicate resources to projects?
The chapter emphasizes the need for sister projects that take operations considerations into account. What is the concept of a sister project, and how do you identify whether or not such a subproject is needed?

By searching the Agency for healthcare Research and Quality grants database. I found one grant titled “Impact of Atypcial Antipsychotic Use on Health Care Utilization in the Elderly”(APARASU, ). This grant aims to describe the use of atypical antipsychotic agents in the elderly, overall number of elderly on this medication, and compare that usage to olanzapine, risperidone, and quetiapine. The age group in 65 years or older and the study hypothesis is that overall use of atypical antipsychotic use is more than typical antipsychotic use (APARASU, ).
In order to search for a grant like this one using grant databases is key. Grant.gov is one area to look and AHRQ is another. I have noticed that more healthcare grants are on AHRQ than on Grant.gov. Using the key terms used in my research article I was able to narrow it down to a few grants available. In order to apply you would need to complete the SF424 form which is the initial application, PHS 398 if the funding opportunity announcement requires it, RPPR which is the research performance progress report guide, and the noncompeting progress report for muli-year funded award (Grant application forms.2015). While this is specific to this grant it is important to fully understand the grant requirements, demographics, and hypothesis of the grant in order to ensure it aligns with your own.
Obtaining grants is an important aspect of research and provides funding for various projects that promote better patient outcomes and/or better educational outcomes. Based on Narcolepsy/Cataplexy, conduct a search for possible grants that may be available to assist in funding your research idea and/or project. Describe your search strategy and discuss how you might go about applying for this grant.

For this assignment you are required to develop a portfolio that showcases your experience through a disability culture plunge (You can find a list of activity and event options on Blackboard). A culture plunge can be defined as exposure to a culture that is different from our own and in this class specifically, the culture of disability. For some of you, you may already identify as being familiar with disability culture. If so, you will need to explore an arena of disability culture that you are not as familiar with. For many of you though, this may be your first time interacting or being involved with the disability community, and we are very excited to read about your experience! It is normal for you to feel nervous, intimidated, and fearful about this assignment, but we hope that this assignment is a valuable and memorable experience that transcends beyond your time at university.

Assignment 2: Conducting a Job Search
An undergraduate psychology degree provides you with some flexibility when selecting a career. The knowledge of how people think, develop, and behave, as well as the interpersonal skills gained from a BA in psychology may lead to work in the field, but also prepares you well for careers in the fields of public service, marketing, or management, among others. Because most professional careers in psychology require further education, those who do not wish to pursue graduate degrees may need to broaden the scope of careers they are willing to consider.
In M1 Assignment 2, you explored your career interests and identified three careers that seemed best suited for you. In this assignment, you will conduct a mock job search and report your findings using the “Job Search Data Bank” form.
Mock Job Search
Select one of the three careers you identified and discussed in M1 Assignment 2 and conduct a job search for actual openings in your area. If you are willing to eventually relocate, you may choose openings elsewhere as well. You may choose to use at least one source or all of the following sources to find available positions in your chosen career of interest:
