Assignment 2: LASA: Therapeutic and Forensic Roles

NO PLAGIARISM!!  APA FORMAT!! MORE THAN 4 REFERENCES!!!
For many years, the ethical dilemma of playing both a therapeutic role and a forensic role has been debated in the literature. Some authorities argue that there is always a conflict of interest in such dual relationships, while other authorities argue that the two roles can be reconciled and impartiality can be maintained. Using the Argosy University online library resources and the Internet, locate at least ten articles that discuss the therapeutic role and the forensic role and take a stance on this particular debate. Make sure that your collection of articles is balanced with regard to the roles and the viewpoints.
Tasks:
Utilize the ethical decision-making process you learned about in M1 Assignment 3to create a 7- to 8-page argumentative paper supporting your stand. First, compare and contrast the roles, articulate the potential ethical conflicts, and discuss how those conflicts might be managed. Then, in a reasoned fashion, develop an argument for whether the two roles—therapeutic and forensic—should ethically coincide.
The course paper is essentially an argumentative essay. Refer to the following for guidelines about writing argumentative essays:

Refer to this guide for tips about writing argumentative essays. (THIS ISATTACHED BELOW)

Ensure that you follow these instructions:

Identify and articulate the similarities and differences between the therapeutic and forensic roles for both assessment and treatment.
Articulate the potential ethical conflicts and discuss how those conflicts might be managed.
Using multiple sources, defend your thesis on how and why therapeutic and forensic roles should or should not be reconciled.
Be sure to address the issues of dual relationships as they apply to assessment as well as treatment.
Ensure that you argue for a particular side of the issue (not arguing both sides) and that your argument is well-supported by scholarly literature, professional ethical guidelines, and the law.
Include solid reasoning and a compelling thesis.
Remember, a strong argument always supports its ideas and proves the other side wrong. Make sure to both support your views with credible arguments and sources and refute the other side.

Use proper grammar and spelling. Additionally, the paper should be written and formatted in APA style.
Submission Details:

Save your paper as M5_A2_Lastname_Firstname.doc and by Monday, July 24, 2017, post it to the M5 Assignment 2 LASA Dropbox.

Discussion 2 A new concept for some organizations is to allow nurses to bring in their own devices known as bring your own devices (BYOD) to use at work. What are some of the security issues you might encounter if this were allowed? How would you address these issues?

In what parts of the heart do you find oxygenated blood and in what parts do you find deoxygenated blood?

The right side of the heart contains oxygen-poor blood, as it has just returned from the body, and the left side contains oxygen-rich blood, as it has just returned from the lungs.
Remember that when you are looking at a diagram of the heart, the sides are reversed from how they are in the body itself. The blue chambers and vessels indicate oxygen-poor blood flow and the red chambers and vessels indicate oxygen-rich blood flow:

Describe how the model could be revised to address those problems.

Discussion: Workflow Modeling
Workflow modeling is widely used throughout many different types of businesses, including health care organizations, to visually summarize the steps of complex processes and systems. When constructing a workflow model, it is important to ensure that the model accurately reflects the actual steps in a process.
In this Discussion, you consider a case study of a health care clinic and its process for ordering medical supplies. You then examine a workflow model that is meant to reflect that process and analyze the model’s accuracy based on the information in the case study. You also analyze the importance of accurate workflow modeling and consider strategies for creating accurate workflow models for health care processes.
Case Study:
Deerborne Dialysis is a local dialysis clinic that is part of a larger health care network, Buckeye Health. Buckeye Health executives have recently been examining the processes by which organizations within the network manage their supplies. Deerborne Dialysis was identified as an exemplary model of efficient supply management, and Buckeye Health executives have requested a workflow model of how Deerborne Dialysis handles their supply management process.
Sharon is the nurse who oversees the process of ordering and stocking supplies for Deerborne Dialysis. She knows the process well and developed a description of the steps in the supply management process. First, Sharon conducts a daily check of the supplies in the storage room. If there is a supply that is running low, Sharon submits an order to the medical supplier. When the clinic receives the shipment, Sharon unpacks the shipment and cross-checks the supplies that were shipped with the supplies that were ordered. If there is a discrepancy, the entire shipment must be returned to the medical supplier, who then rushes a new shipment to the clinic to be received the next day. If there is no discrepancy, or once the new shipment is received, unpacked, and cross-checked, Sharon stocks the shelves in the storage room and gives the supply bill to the clinic’s accountant, who ensures that the medical supplier receives payment.
Sharon has created the following workflow model to reflect the steps she goes through to manage the clinic’s inventory of supplies:
Workflow Model: Deerborne Dialysis Supply Management
To prepare:
Review the case study above and examine the workflow model that is meant to reflect the process described in the case study.Identify problems with the workflow model. How could the model be revised to be more accurate, clear, and effective?Reflect on the importance of creating an accurate workflow model of health care processes. What are the challenges involved in workflow modeling? What are the consequences of inaccurate workflow models?Consider strategies that you can use to ensure that workflow models are effective and accurate.
With these thoughts in mind:
Postby tomorrow 9/27/16 a minimum of 550 words essay in APA format with 3 references (References must come from the list provided in the instruction area), addressing the level one headings as numbered below:
1) A summary of at least three specific problems you identified in the workflow model.
2) Describe how the model could be revised to address those problems.
3) Analyze the importance of accuracy and clarity in workflow modeling, and describe at least one strategy you plan to use to ensure that the workflow models you create are accurate and clear.

Assignment 1: Community Partnerships | Nursing School Essays

Assignment 1: Community Partnerships
Included in this module are the suggested readings regarding community partnerships, along with examples for how to incorporate partnerships with community resources and your agency.
Tasks:
Using at least five resources from the professional literature, respond to the following in a minimum of 400 words as it relates to the Human Services field. The literature may include the Argosy University online library resources, relevant textbooks, peer-reviewed journal articles, and websites created by professional organizations, agencies, or institutions (.edu, .org, and .gov):

Using the same position in the Human Services field that you discussed in the M1 Assignment 2 Discussion, assume that you are the person at your agency responsible for developing partnerships with the community. Discuss a minimum of five needs your agency has that the community can meet. Keep in mind the mission and vision of your agency.
In your area, find a minimum of one resource to meet each of your agency’s five needs. Provide the way the community partner would meet your needs along with the title and website of the community partner.
Provide three ways in which you would “sell” your agency to the community. For example, what area events would you attend to inform the community about the mission and vision of your agency?

What values are in conflict for the parties involved?

In this forum we will analyze a specific medical incident and share it with your colleagues in the course. Please read the following case study from AMA’s Virtual Mentor (read the first section) and address the questions below:

Questions for this Incident Analysis
Who are the major stakeholders in this situation, and what are their ethical positions?
What values are in conflict for the parties involved?
Is Mrs. Jones’ family ethically justified in their requests to Dr. Rosenberg?
Is Dr. Rosenberg ethically justified in his proposed course of action?
If Mrs. Jones is denied the treatment recommendations of Dr. Rosenberg, what kind of euthanasia will occur? Will it be voluntary or non-voluntary?
What are the major factors and concerns for Dr. Rosenberg and Mrs. Jones’ family?
What is the best outcome for this case, and why?
Be sure to justify your answer by applying the concepts and theories we learned in this unit to these facts in this case only, using the lecture on Incident Analysis as your guide..

Cognitive Development, Math, and Science Fact Sheet & Literacy Backpack

DISCUSSION 1
Cognitive Development, Math, and Science Fact SheetThere are several early childhood curriculum activities that support the development of cognitive processes, science knowledge, and math knowledge. In Chapter 10 of your text, Jaruszewicz (2013) offers an explanation of these areas of development and ideas for educators and families to support these areas. For this discussion, you will create a Fact Sheet. First, review the required readings for this week and the Week Five Instructor Guidance page. Second, consider the following scenario as a frame of reference for this discussion: As a student in the Early Childhood Education program, you have been asked to help a colleague that has not received their textbook yet. You decide that the best way to assist your peer, and to help you study for the course, is to create a Fact Sheet. Initial Post: Use Microsoft Word or another tool of your choice to create the Fact Sheet. Your fact sheet must cover only one of the following areas from the Jaruszewicz (2013) textbook as your focus:

Cognitive Development (sections 10.1, 10.2)
Math (section 10.3, 10.4)
Science (section 10.5).

Include the main points from the section you are focusing on and additional ideas for how you can use the information in an educational setting teaching young children. At a minimum, the Fact Sheet must include the following components:

A summary of the section including the main ideas from your chosen area of focus (i.e., Cognitive Development, Math, or Science)
Three ways to promote development in an educational setting for young children. Support this section with your text and an additional scholarly resource.
Two suggestions for family involvement
Two websites that support development.

DISCUSSION 2
Literacy BackpackPromoting language and literacy experiences in early childhood education can profoundly impact children positively for the national core standards in language arts (Jaruszewicz, 2013). In particular, research confirms positive correlations between high quality early literacy experiences and later success in school (Barnett & Lamy, 2006). Part of this is creating engaging literacy experiences that create enthusiasm and emerging positive literacy dispositions. One way to engage children in meaningful experiences is to create language and literacy activities that are engaging, interactive, and fun. The concept of a thematic literacy bag, sometimes called a story sack, or backpack, has been used within the classroom as well as an at home activity to support positive literacy experiences. These thematic bags include several language and literacy activities that support children’s learning. To prepare for this discussion, review the Explanation of Story Sacks, Buddy Bags, and Literacy Bags on Pinterest resources for this week as well as the Instructor Guidance for Week Five.Initial Post: Create a plan for a literacy backpack that can be used within the classroom or at home. Your post must include a visual of what your bag might look like. You can use whichever graphics program you choose to create the visual (e.g., the drawing tools in Microsoft Word or PowerPoint). Be sure to attach your visual to your initial post. Additionally, an explanation for the following contents of your literacy backpack must be included in the message of your initial post:

Theme of your bag and introduction to the bag (e.g., Back to School, Seasons of the Year, Animals, Apples, Feelings and Emotions).
Developmental level/age that you would use the activities with.
Three developmentally appropriate literature selections that could be read to the child, including the title and author.
Three open-ended questions that the child could discuss after reading the stories.
Three activities which reflect reading/writing for the developmental level.
Three language activities that could be done with the child.
Three manipulatives or additional items that could be added to the bag, with a rationale of why they are important. For example, you may wish to include a puzzle or a stuffed animal that is related to the theme.
