Kohlberg supposes that gender identification develops in stages. What are these stages, and when approximately are children likely to reach each stage? The concept of gender constancy is central to Kohlberg’s cognitive developmental theory of gender-typing. What does gender constancy mean, when are most children likely to achieve it, and would be the criteria, or signs, that it has been achieved?

Attributes and Evaluation of Discussion Contributions.
Professional Communications and Writing Guide.

Now that you have introduced yourself to your fellow learners, share your area of specialization and topic of interest for your Integrated Project. The topic you select will be one that you develop into a research proposal. You will only propose the research; you will not actually collect data. (See the description of the final Integrated Project in Unit 10). Your discussion post should include your rationale for selecting this area of study for your Integrative Project: Chapters I–V. Close your post with a clear research question related to your proposed study. This question will serve as the guiding question for the project.
Your instructor will provide feedback and approval of your proposed topic of interest.
Response Guidelines
Review the posts of at least two other learners and respond to their work. What questions do you have about their topic in the context of a research proposal or research-based project for their Integrative Project: Chapters I–V? Do you have any additional insights or questions on the relationship between their topic of interest and their specialization?
Remember, this course is not about your opinions, but rather about substantiated research. You should give a valid reason for your positioning. When you respond to your fellow learners, you should do so with evidence and supporting documentation.

For Phyllis Young: Letter to Freud

Letter to Freud
In this assignment you are to write a letter to Sigmund Freud critiquing three of the most important concepts in his theory. You will need to include at least two reliable outside sources in your critique of Freud’s concepts. Scholarly sources are preferred and additional, non-scholarly sources from reputable Web and print sources are also acceptable. For reputable Web sources, look for .org, .net, or .edu sites as opposed to .com sites. Please do not use Wikipedia.
The three concepts you will be critiquing are the:

Unconscious
Psychosexual stages of development
Structure of personality

Begin your letter with a paragraph introducing yourself.
Each of the three issues should serve as a separate heading in your letter. Under each heading, include at least:

One substantive paragraph summarizing the concept clearly and thoroughly as Freud might explain it.
1-2 paragraphs,  critiquing the concept. Explain what you think is valid or invalid about his understanding of this concept. You are welcome to agree or disagree with his views but it is important that you attempt to bring in relevant and current research to substantiate your agreement or disagreement. This should be an objective critique of some of Freud’s concepts versus simply an opinion paper.

Follow this procedure for EACH of the three concepts mentioned above.
Conclude your letter with a paragraph summarizing your key points.
After completing the letter, include a paragraph or two explaining how Freud’s concept of the unconscious might be effectively used by a psychoanalytic therapist practicing today. Explain at least two techniques that might be used and the expected outcome of these techniques.
Paper should be at least 1500 words in length, follow APA style for attributing sources, and include a reference page.
