Case Analysis

Determine whether certain contract remedies exist in the following scenario:

Forrest Gump is a famous table tennis player. He enters into a contract with Alabama Sports Marketing to advertise the latest ping pong game and to serve as the computer-generated imagery (CGI) model for the development of the video game. Gump is perfect for this job as there are not many world famous ping pong players who have a following similar to his. The game is set to start development on March 1 and will be completed on July 31, so the game can be released at Thanksgiving—a major video game release period. Both parties have agreed and stipulated to the fact that the game must be completed on time to maximize the profits.

Gump will make 20% of the net proceeds from the sales of the game. In addition, the contract has a liquidated damages clause that indicates that if Gump does not participate in the marketing, does not serve as the CGI model, or breaches the contract in any way, he will owe Alabama Sports Marketing $2 million.

Based on this fact pattern and the information presented in this unit, answer the following questions in a minimum of 250 words each.

1. One day, Gump gets into an argument with the developer. Gump refuses to perform any work until the problem is solved. In this situation, can Alabama Sports Marketing seek specific performance of the contract? If yes, why? If no, why not?

This type of analysis is used for external and internal purposes. One of the most important sources for effective and productive financial analysis is using data issued by the company itself. This includes the income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flow. Other important resources can also be used, such as prices of stocks. In this module, we will learn how to use, interpret, and understand these ratios that help us assess the financial stability of any company and give us insight on the best steps moving forward. Should we increase assets? Decrease liabilities? How can we increase profitability? This module will help answer these and many other questions that are always important for our jobs and our personal investment decision-making process. In our daily lives, we are always faced with decisions regarding investments, what the safest place is for them, and how to determine the risk associated with our investment. This module will educate us about the two most important tools we need to perform and understand financial analysis: Module Two

1. Ratio analysis: This helps us assess various items in the financial statements and how they relate to each other; with these ratios, we can measure the firm’s performance.

For this project, you are the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The Executive Director of the International Association of Chiefs of Police has asked you to provide him or her with a white paper on criminal profiling. The Executive Director wishes to encourage all police agencies to use this valuable resource, but the IACP wants an update on the procedure since it has been around now for approximately 40 years. There is also concern with using the term profiling, as it has taken on some new negative connotations.

It can be a traditional brick-and-mortar company, or one that is completely online. The company can be in any of the four categories of e-commerce. The goal in writing the Final Paper is to demonstrate an ability to analyze a company based on the concepts presented in this course. The paper will discuss the following:

1. A thorough executive summary and an overview of the company, its history, background, and stage in the company life cycle
2. The need(s) the company addresses and the customers it pursues
3. The role of the Internet in strategy: business strategy, Information Systems Strategy (IS), Information and Communication Technology Strategy (ICT), and e-Commerce Strategy (EC)). Also, address the knowledge management strategies the company uses.
