The Relationship Between the Iron Triangle of Healthcare and Value-Based Purchasing This assignment consists of the following parts:
1) What is the general concept of an iron triangle
2) Please identify and describe the corners of the iron triangle of healthcare. If you choose you can create a triangle using PowerPoint MS Paint or even draw it by hand and scan it in.
3) Describe what happens when you increase or decrease one corner of the triangle. For example Ill give you one of the answers and tell you that one corner of the triangle is cost. What happens to the other two attributes when you increase or decrease cost
4) This is going to be the toughest one (perhaps) to integrate into your paper. Well talk at length about Value-Based Purchasing (VBP) and the CMS incentive structure. VBP has two inherent corners of the triangle built into it but the third is often times overlooked. Provide insight as to how this third corner could be integrated the overall structure of VBP. Your paper should not exceed 4-5 pages not including your title page and references/appendices. As a reminder the bulk of your paper should be focused on the integration of the oft-overlooked prong of the iron triangle into VBP.
