“Reliable Realist”

For my results I got the personality type “Reliable Realist”. Reliable realist was defined as “serious and quiet, interested in security and peaceful living. Extremely thorough, responsible and dependable. Well-developed powers of concentrations. Usually interested in supporting and promoting traditions and establishments. Well-organized and hard-working, they work steadily towards identifying goals. They can usually accomplish any task once they set their mind to it”. (41 pp. 1) Some careers that would fit this personality type would include business executives, administrators and managers, accountants, police, detectives, judges, lawyers, medical doctors, dentists, computer programmers, system analysts, computer specialists, auditors, electricians, math teachers, mechanical engineers, steelworkers, and technicians. I found this to be interesting because when I first started college, I was initially going for biomechanical engineering, which would fit this description. About a year in to school, I changed my major to education, which a math teacher was also on the list. Now, my third (and final) major is human resource management, which managers are on the list as well.
Some other personality traits, according to this survey state that I am more introverted than extroverted. This means that I would rather not be in large groups or bigger groups. How I process information was very high towards sensing, which means I would gather information by focusing on facts within information. How I make decisions was closer to the thinking end, which portrays the idea that I use logic, consistency, objective analysis, process-driven conclusions. How I structure my life is more towards the judging end of the spectrum. Judging consists of organizes, plans, controls, and decides clear firm actions and responses in dealing with the world – relatively quick to decide.
Overall, I think this personality test was for the most part spot on. I think doing quizzes like this and better understanding your personality will only benefit you within the work world. This, I think, allows you to better mesh with coworkers and colleagues.
