Choose a program or project about the diagnosis that most interests you (e.g. diabetes, mental health, early childhood, etc) from Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet (https://healthinfonet.ecu.edu.au/).

In your tutorial groups, prepare a 15 minute presentation (with 5 minutes for questions) using the tools from the tutorial.

Consider

  • What are the determinants of health for this health issue?
  • What is the impact of this health issue on the community?
  • Why is this health issue so important to consider?
  • What other team members would you need to run this progam?
  • Use the APIE tools from the tutorial to demonstrate this program’s effectiveness

Here is the rubric for the presentation: (part A)

Assessment 3, Part B:

During your tutorials, you will be required to peer review the other presentations. You need to demonstrate an understanding of the determinants of health in the presentation (0/10) and to demonstrate an understanding of the APIE system (0/10). See the rubric to get the best points:

System planning

In this course, you will progressively work on a system implementation process in six stages:

  • Week 1: System planning
  • Week 2: System analysis
  • Week 3: System selection
  • Week 4: System implementation
  • Week 5: User training and system maintenance

You can use Internet resources, peer-reviewed journals, and reputable, published articles, and you may interview an executive of a healthcare facility that has implemented an electronic medical record system/electronic health record system or similar system to describe the six implementation steps.

This week there are three tasks to do. First, you will work on the user trainingphase of the system implementation, considering the following:

  • Planning for training
  • Contents of training
  • Methods of training
  • Location of training
  • Schedule of training
  • Resources needed
  • Training the trainer
  • Conducting the training
  • Additional periodic ongoing trainings
  • Computer-assisted training

Complete the section in a 3–5-page.

Second, this week is final phase of the system implementation that results in the acceptance, rejection, or modification of the project, and release, suspension, or deduction of the contracted amount to the vendor(s)—system maintenance. Compose a brief (2-page) summary of how you will:

  • Ensure that all hardware work together.
  •  System planning
  • Ensure that data between different systems interfaces and is transferred smoothly and in correct format.
  • Ensure correct transference of data from old to new system (conversion testing).
  • Ensure that the system can work under maximum load (volume/stress testing).
  • Verify that the system works as expected in a live environment.

Third, combine your earlier Final Project papers into a single document, and place this summary at the end. Name it SUO_HCM3008_Final_yourinitials.

leadership skills

This benchmark assignment assesses the following programmatic competencies:

2.3:        Develop leadership skills to collaborate on interprofessional teams in the provision of evidence-based, patient-centered care.

5.2:     Apply professional, ethical, and regulatory standards of practice in the provision of safe, effective health care.

One way informatics can be especially valuable is in capturing data to inspire improvements and quality change in practice. The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) collects data related to adverse events and safety concerns. If you are working within a practice setting to implement a new electronic health record (EHR) system, this is just one of the many considerations your team would need to plan for during the rollout process.

In a paper of 1,250-1,500 words, address the following questions related to the advanced registered nurse’s role during this type of scenario:

  1. What key information would be needed in the database that would allow you to track opportunities for care improvement?
  2. What role does informatics play in the ability to capture this data?
  3. Which systems and staff members would need to be involved in the design and implementation process and team?
  4. What professional, ethical, and regulatory standards must be incorporated into the design and implementation of the system?
  5. How would the EHR team ensure that all order sets are part of the new record?
  6. How would you communicate the changes, including any kind of transition plan?
  7. What measures and steps would you take to evaluate the success of the EHR implementation from a staff, setting, and patient perspective?
  8. What leadership skills and theories would facilitate collaboration with the interprofessional team and provide evidence-based, patient-centered care?

You are required to cite five to 10 sources to complete this assignment. Sources must be published within the last 5 years and appropriate for the assignment criteria and nursing content.

Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.

health of the target community

Briefly summarize your project:  How was the assessment completed? Who was your target audience( patient at the rehabilitation) and how many were in the audience? What was your topic?( fall prevention)  How did you determine what your topic should be (justification)?  When( march 1st 2019) and where( sava senior care, Glenburnie MD).  did you present the community education project?  Who gave you permission to present at the location,( Ms Carol Brown) was the permission form completed? yes.   How did you advertise your presentation?  ( nurses, patient tech, physical therapist and occupational therapist) What educational materials did you use or provide to the audience? (Provide ID of yourself and action picture for proof)

Evaluation

Explain how you would evaluate whether the efforts to improve the health concern were effective. Include in your explanation the tools you might use to do this evaluation. Also, critically appraise your performance of the activity/project for this population. How did the population respond? What aspects were you most satisfied/least satisfied with? What went well (at least 3 things)? What changes would you make in the future (at least 2 things)?

Conclusion

For nurses, reflection is integral to higher-level thinking. You should be able to critically analyze scenarios and possible outcomes as opposed to simply asking the right questions. Acute perception of the entire situation will be obtained because you are open to dealing with the contradictions that may challenge your initial bias. Reflect on how your perspective of the community’s health and the national, state, and local efforts toward a healthier population has changed as a result of your fieldwork. Discuss the health of the target community population compared to national, state, local health findings. Discuss how the interventions used would impact at the local, state, and national level (include information on your chosen Healthy People 2020 goals). Finally, what impact did your project have on your target population?

  1. Please submit a recorded presentation of between 7 and 9 minutes that is a reflection of the project based on a full representation of all three parts above. You may video yourself discussing the project or you may create a PowerPoint presentation and record your voice to the presentation (using screencast-o-matic.com). The presentation should include at least two scholarly sources other than provided materials. Please be sure to provide a photo of you at the location where you completed your education project and your ID again. You may submit your Reference page and photos in a separate file in the dropbox or insert them into the PowerPoint.
  2. Please also submit your final Project Hours Log with a total of between 70 and 100 hours. The module hour breakdown is as follows:

The Selection Process

The Selection Process

The process involved with selecting the “right” employee will differ depending on the requirements of the job. In addition, the culture and expectations of an organization will have great impact on the structure of the selection process. Where one health care setting might require applicants to participate in group interviews, another might use personality tests. In addition, the qualities for which interviewers look might also vary, ranging from a personality focus to a skills focus.

In this Assignment, you investigate the selection process that is used in a health care organization with which you are familiar. You also identify the expectations of both human resources and the nurse manager in terms of selection.

To prepare

  • Review Chapter 6, “Selecting New Employees” in the course text, Human Resource Management: Functions, Applications, Skill Development, to examine the various selection processes health care settings and other organizations may employ. In addition, reflect upon the three types of “fit” nurse managers should take into consideration when selecting new employees.
  • Identify a position that is open or has recently been filled in your organization.
  • Using what you know about the position, the culture and expectations of the organization, your own hiring and selection experiences, and this week’s readings, investigate the following:
    • Identify the selection steps that have been or will be taken, as well as the members involved. For example, which steps did human resources complete? In which steps did the nursing manager engage?
    • Identify the skills, educational and work background, and “fit” required for this position. How do these align with the advertised job description?
    • Identify any problems or areas that could be improved in your organization’s current selection process. If you were the nurse manager, how would you modify this process?

Note: If possible, you may also choose to discuss these ideas with an HR professional or nurse manager in your organization.

To complete

Submit a 3- to 5-page paper in which you do the following:

  • Briefly describe the selection process used in your setting.
    • Identify the team members involved in conducting each step. For example, explain which steps HR performs and which steps managers perform.
      • Explain how effective you believe the current system is.
      • Briefly describe any problems (e.g., rushing, stereotyping, “like me” syndrome, halo and horn effect, premature selection) your setting has experienced with this current selection system (if applicable).
      • Explain how you would modify the process and why.
  • Identify the job title for the open or recently filled position.
    • Describe the skills and background a desirable applicant would have.
    • Describe the type of “fit” that would make this applicant the “right” person for this specific job.
  • Compare the job description with the expectations of the position.
    • Explain whether or not the job description aligns with the skills, background, and “fit” needed to excel in this position.
    • Explain the specific attributes or characteristics you, as the nurse manager responsible for selecting a candidate for the position, might seek that are not specifically outlined in the job description. Describe how you could you elicit this information during an interview.
