Week 2 – Assignment
Prior to beginning work on this assignment, review Chapter 3 in your textbook and the HumanMetrics Jung Typology Test website, and read the Choca (1999), Paris (2005), and Westen (1998) articles.
For this assignment, choose a historically important figure or a character from a movie, novel, or TV show, then address the following in your paper:

Examine your figure or character from the perspective of Jung’s theoretical approach to personality and describe your chosen figure or character based on the dichotomous facets of personality as defined by Jung.
Evaluate the current Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) personality instrument, which is based on Jung’s theories, and provide your impression of your chosen figure or character through the major facets of the MBTI.
Analyze how ethical issues might affect the implementation of MBTI personality assessment in the setting native to your chosen figure or character.
Assess the MBTI and its use to provide results on your chosen figure or character and describe the efficacy and reliability of this assessment as it relates to your chosen person.
Summarize and present your opinion about how well this theory describes the person in question. Provide research to support your claims.

Is it OK to legalize abortion?

D iscuss current research that links patient safety outcomes to ADN and BSN nurses. Based on some real-life experiences, do you agree or disagree with this research?
Through research by Linda Aiken, a study that suggested that a more educated nursing workforce means better patient outcomes. This study linked higher ratios of BSN-prepared nurses with lower patient mortality rates after having common surgical procedures (How Does your Nursing, 2014). What I found to be interesting was when RNs return to school to obtain a BSN degree due to an employer’s requirement, do not at first believe that by receiving the new degree will change the way they practice nursing. But several studies have shown that these nurses find that the education they have received reaped some unexpected benefits (How Does your Nursing, 2014). It was the National Student Nurses Association (NSNA) that went through and presented these studies in an article online that found that RNs in a BSN program were noticing chances in their skills, reasoning abilities, and perspectives on nursing practice (How Does your Nursing, 2014).
Based on real-life experiences, before starting this RN to BSN program, I could not imagine what it could teach me that I don’t already know or have seen. But I have come to believe that acquiring a BSN degree has honed and refined skills, increased my critical thinking skills and reasoning abilities, and changed some perspectives on nursing practice. I think with these advanced and refined skills, it can lead to better judgement and improved thinking, with a new and fresh view on the changes that are happening, BSN prepared RNs can be in a position to embrace and contribute to the success of health care in a way that an ADN nurse may not have the background to. I think it is these advanced skills that BSN degree nurses possess that contribute to the studies of lower mortality rates and better patient outcomes.

Explain how you might successfully develop and master each of these competencies.

Informatics Competencies
Nursing informatics is a discipline that is still evolving. Yet, there is a set of core skills and knowledge that applies to all individuals who work as nurse informaticists and many competencies that are specific to informatics roles, positions, tasks, and responsibilities. For example, a nurse informaticist who works as a consultant for a health care technology company and a nurse informaticist who works as a professor at a university will share much of the same expertise and knowledge. However, they will also have distinct competencies specific to their unique roles.
In this Discussion, you explore informatics competencies within the informatics functional area you selected for the Week 1 Assignment.
To prepare:
Review nursing informatics competencies such as those outlined by the American Nurses Association (ANA), the Technology Informatics Guiding Education Reform (TIGER), and the Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN).
Review this weeks media presentation Competencies for Nurse Informaticists, and reflect on the competencies outlined by the presenters.
Recall the informatics functional area you identified in the Week 1 Assignment. With this in mind, what competencies would be most important for you to master? How might you go about developing these competencies?
Create a list of competencies you would like to master.
By Day 3
1. Post a brief description of the informatics functional area in which you are interested. (Leadership in Nursing Informatics)
2. Then, identify at least four ANA, TIGER and/or QSEN competencies that you believe to be vital for success in this functional area, and justify your choices.
3. Explain how you might successfully develop and master each of these competencies.

Chapter 11, System Life Cycle: A Framework In this chapter, the authors introduce the systems life cycle (SDLC) and its stages. These stages are often used by organizations for large-scale projects, such as implementing or upgrading health information technology.
Chapter 13, System Life Cycle Tools Chapter 13 focuses on the tools needed to assist with each phase of the System Life Cycle. Successful implementation projects require clinical expertise as well as technical knowledge from nurse informaticists.

How did you identify the theoretical statement in the argument?

How did you identify the theoretical statement in the argument?
(1)Jean-Baptiste Lamarck believed that physical diversity among animals could be explained by physical stressors experienced by one generation being passed on to the next. Giraffes, therefore, have long necks because one giraffe, a long time ago, had to stretch out and reach for food, and this characteristic was passed on to its offspring. What are the problems with Lamarck’s theory of evolution?
(2)please look at the history of medicine. In the past, surgeons thought that exposure to air was the reason for an infection stemming from a surgery. Thus, a surgeon did not need to wash or even change clothing because these issues were not the cause of infection.Do some research on the issue of the invisible world of germs and how this theory was proved and accepted.
(3)On the Healthy People 2020 website, the 2020 LHI topic, Social Determinants, explains that a national indicator of health is measured by “Students who graduate with a regular diploma 4 years after starting 9th grade” (para. 11). According to the data, as a nation, are we improving or declining, and why is this important to our health as a country?
(4)Briefly (and without using formal nursing diagnosis terminology) explain each step of the nursing process (ADOPIE) as it might apply to a person who smokes tobacco.
CASE STUDY (due Thursday)

Why, or why not?If the statement should be accepted, demonstrate how it is immune to first-stage criticism. If the statement should not be accepted, demonstrate how either first-stage or second-stage criticism of the theory undermines its veracity.
This essay will include a thesis statement regarding the author’s position on the theory. It will include an introduction that introduces the reader to the issues at stake, and a conclusion that summarizes the author’s findings. The web link i’m providing is :http://www.slate.com/I was thinking of the article Hate in America.
