Discuss your recommendation on whether Rasmussen Healthcare Systems should expand to the second state.

Part I: The world is becoming smaller and smaller and when companies look to expand they often look outside their original footprint. Rasmussen Healthcare Systems is looking to expand their system to another state. To help advise Rasmussen on this decision, you will write 4-5 pages that compare and contrast the healthcare reform policies of the state where you reside (Illinois) and another state of your choice(Minnesota). Please keep in mind the position and facility you selected. Make sure to include the following:
Discuss the purpose of each state’s reform.
Describe a minimum of three specific examples of similarities and differences in healthcare reform policies in the two states.
Discuss in detail some of the ethical issues and moral disputes in each state’s reform.
Discuss your recommendation on whether Rasmussen Healthcare Systems should expand to the second state.
This portion of your assignment will require you to research and examine information from various sources. Use a minimum of five credible sources for your paper, with three being an academic source from the Rasmussen College Online Library (don’t forget to include in-text citations throughout your paper with paraphrasing or quoting).
Make sure to include your APA formatted reference page.

Case Report: Bipolar 1 disorder

My case study will be over Bipolar 1 disorder.
The case report provides an opportunity for students to write a realistic profile of an adult who is suffering from a specific disorder. The goal of this assignment is to showcase knowledge of the disorder by synthesizing and applying information learned from readings and lecture. Minimum of three references (empirical articles) should be cited.
-Minimum 1500 words
-APA style (including references)
BOTH Title page and references ARE required (these do NOT count towards the overall word count)
-Double-spaced, Times New Roman, 1-inch margins
a. Provide an overview of the symptom presentation with specific examples of each symptom. Example: “John Doe is a 28-year-old, Hispanic male who was self-referred regarding feelings of anxiety when interacting with others. He reported that he constantly worries about being judged negatively in social situations. Last week, John excused himself from a meeting at work because he worried that his co-workers could see his hands shaking while they were discussing a meeting strategy. He believes they think he is ‘weird’ and has been unable to attend a meeting since.”
b. Discuss the etiology of the disorder and purported risk factors for this particular case. Example: “John Doe has always been a shy child. John reported that he remembers his mother becoming angry if he refused to speak in social situations. John made a few friends in elementary school, but in 3rd grade one of John’s best friends suddenly stopped talking to him. This friend began teasing John at school, calling him names and throwing things at him when the teacher was not looking.
c. Describe the treatment plan with rationale for why the selected treatment is indicated Example: “John Doe would benefit from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) targeting social anxiety disorder (SAD). Specific treatment goals include reduced subjective anxiety in social situations, increased prosocial behavior, improved workplace productivity, and increased social support and communication. The first few sessions will focus on psychoeducation to provide John with a better understanding of SAD and its treatment. The next phase of treatment will focus on exposure therapy. John will be gradually exposed John to social situations of increasing difficulty. For example, John will start by walking down the street and saying a quick hello to the people he walks by. Next, John will add another statement about the weather as he walks by each person. … John will wear a sombrero while shopping at the market. Lastly, John will make ‘dumb’ comments during his work meeting, as his core fear revolves around being teased or ridiculed. Because CBT in combination with a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI; Gould et al., 1997) has been shown to be most effective in the treatment of SAD, John will also be referred to a psychiatrist to initiate a trial of Fluoxetine.”
d. Cite a minimum of 3 references to provide adequate support for your diagnosis, etiology, risk factors, and treatment.

What are the clinical manifestations?
After considering this scenario, what are the primary identified medical concerns for this patient?
What are the primary psychosocial concerns?
What are the implications of the treatment regimen, as far as likelihood of compliance and outcomes? Search the Internet to research rates of patient compliance in treatment of TB, as well as drug resistant TB.

What percentage of the population is considered low-income earners?

Cancer presents 9.6 million of death cases in the United States (DeSantis, 2019). Internationally, for every six deaths, one person must be a cancer patient. Some of the factors that lead to the yearly mortality rates from cancer in the United States include poverty, dietary and behavioral risks, drug and tobacco use and abuse, and other infections such as hepatitis B (Torre, 2016). Approximately 65 percent of the cancer deaths come from the people with low-income earnings. Nearly 75 percent of the cancer death cases result from behavioral and dietary risks, low vegetable and fruits intake, high body mass index and lack of physical activity. Another risk factor is the use of tobacco and alcohol that cause s 22 percent of cancer deaths in the United States.

Elderly Development

Part 1:
Normative and non-normative life events impact older adults and their abilities to copein dealing with significant change in health or a loss of a spouse. One such event, the end of life, can be considered normative or non-normative depending on the circumstances. The end of life can present difficult issues for family members. It’s a matter of perspective. Some people view death as a natural part of life, but for others, it can be a very controversial issue. Each family member has his or her own view regarding how end-of-life issues should be dealt with, and sometimes society doesn’t agree with those views

Explain from a comparative standpoint how coping strategies may differ between older and younger adults. Research the coping strategies that older adults employ. How are these strategies used to deal with such stressors as the loss of a spouse or a significant change in health? Compare and contrast the coping strategies of older and younger adults.
Briefly describe the differences between hospice and death with dignity laws. Explain how these different perspectives on end-of-life issues might impact an end-of-life scenario. Consider the perspectives of the individual who is dying, as well as the various family members. Include the Kübler-Ross model in your explanation.

Justify your answers with appropriate reasoning and research from your text and course readings. Comment on the postings of at least two peers, and provide an analysis of each peer’s postings while also suggesting specific additions or clarifications for improving the discussion question response.
Part 2:
Comorbidity is the presence of two or more conditions or diseases that occur at the same time. For older adults, geriatric depression seems to be comorbid with other health conditions such as congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), dementia, alcohol abuse, and diabetes.  Another presenting issue is the onset of chronic disorders that cause dementia such as Alzheimer’s disease.  Dementia is cognitive and functional impairment that results from several different diseases and conditions.Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia. Although a relatively small number of cases of Alzheimer’s are diagnosed in individuals under the age of 60 (early-onset Alzheimer’s disease), late-onset Alzheimer’s disease (occurring in patients after age 60) is the more prevalent variety. The impact of Alzheimer’s disease, like the other chronic diseases that cause dementia, is significant not only for the individual but also for the family members as well.

Explain why the rate of depression may be higher in older adults, based on the presence of comorbid conditions. Research statistical information regarding geriatric depression and describe some of the more common treatment options.
Research the impact of Alzheimer’s disease on the family in regards to care-providing and socioeconomic costs. Explain how the family dynamics may change in relation to caring for a person with Alzheimer’s. Describe some of the psychological and emotional challenges a family member may face when caring for a person with Alzheimer’s disease.
