What does the data say about the congressional focus of this issue?

Through this assignment, we will explore trends concerning an individually selected area of policy and provide context on the public policy theory/theories at play. You will answer the following question:
How has congressional agenda changed over time in regards to your selected policy topic?
To start, visit Comparative Agendas Project . Once on the webpage, click on Trend Tools (on the top right). Then, click select dataset types and policy topics on the upper left side. Then, Click on Budgets on the upper left side. Next, select United States. Then, select the specific aspect of the US budget you want to analyze. Then, in the bottom right, select Line for Chart Type.
Next, for Dates, select Year. Once you create two charts, or at least have the data points for two periods, then use export to integrate them into your paper. Then, analyze the two charts (ie, compare and contrast) in your paper.
For the purposes of this project, you’ll need to pull data from at least two different time periods to show any shifts in trends/attention.
Next analyze your findings through a 3-5 page paper (excluding cover page and references). You’ll want to cover the following questions:
What is the history of this policy?
What does the data say about the congressional focus of this issue?
How and why are the charts different?
What driving forces/actors would have had an impact on the congressional attention on this issue?
Were there other events taking place that would explain a low in congressional attention on this issue?
What theory/theories from our text could explain the history or trends of the issue? What contexts are applicable here?
Please include your charts in your essay. Note that the labels on the charts may be inaccurate, so focus on trends. Be sure to draw from our course readings and to utilize at least 3 scholarly sources. A list of good online journals is available in our online library. Here is a sample paper with proper APA formatting and citations from Purdue OWL.

The DSM

Discussion 1: The DSM
At the heart of every great mystery lies a solution. Just as a good detective may use specific guidelines to gather evidence for a solution, so too might a good psychologist use set criteria to gather evidence for an accurate solution, or diagnosis. Although detectives focus on who is responsible for the problem, psychologists focus on why and how the problem surfaced. To make an accurate diagnosis, psychologists follow set diagnostic criteria outlined in the DSM. As a classification system for diagnosis, the DSM is important in the field, but current literature highlights the fact that, along with its strengths, limitations exist in it for accuracy in client diagnosis.
For this Discussion, consider the classification system of the DSM. Think about the relative strengths and limitations of this classification system in making a diagnosis.
With these thoughts in mind:
Post by Day 3a brief description of the overall classification system of the DSM in your own words. Then discuss the strengths and limitations of the DSM.
Be sure to support your postings and responses with specific references to the Learning Resources and current literature.

explore issues that Arab and Muslim clients may face, whether they are established or recently immigrated, more traditional or assimilated

News events such as the 2015 Paris attacks, armed conflicts such as the Syrian civil war, and enduring fear of Arabs and Muslims has led to a great deal of discrimination and prejudice for people within the Arab diaspora throughout the world. In the U.S., this prejudice often has roots in the fear of terrorism and little understanding of who Arab and Muslim Americans are, what they believe, and the differences and similarities that may be present across this large group of people. Like all other groups, clients from this population should receive ethical and culturally sensitive treatment and services as part of human and social services responsibilities.
For this week’s Discussion, you explore issues that Arab and Muslim clients may face, whether they are established or recently immigrated, more traditional or assimilated. You consider these issues through the lens of a case study, one that deals with group work with a heterogeneous group of factory workers, some of whom are recent immigrants from Syria.
To Prepare:
Review Chapter 15 in your course text Cultural Diversity, considering cultural issues that human and social services workers should consider when working with Arab and/or Muslim American clients.
Review in the Weekly Resources the Case Study at the Port of New Harbor Plant, located in the Interactive Learning Community.
Post an explanation of the most important areas that Robert should focus on when facilitating this diverse group and why. Use this week’s Learning Resources and other peer-reviewed literature to support your post.

Psychology help please? | Nursing School Essays

Read the scenario and answer the questions in no less than 200 words each. Include APA-formatted citations and references.
William is a 44-year old project manager for a large commercial construction firm. He started out as a gifted carpenter who greatly enjoyed designing and building custom furniture. However, after several promotions, he focuses on bringing in new business. He spends many work hours at his computer or on the telephone. He is divorced and rarely sees his two daughters. In recent years, he has gained weight and is displeased with his appearance, but has no interest in or energy for exercise. He does not sleep well because he worries about business problems at night. He was recently diagnosed with high blood pressure. Although he is financially secure, he rarely takes vacations or socializes outside of the office. He has begun to feel that his life is pointless.
 1. Discuss William’s situation from the perspective of traditional psychology. What information would be most important? What conclusions and recommendations might be made by a psychologist working from the disease model?
2. Discuss William’s situation from the perspective of positive psychology. What information would be most important? What conclusions and recommendations might be made by a psychologist working from the positive psychology model?
Conduct a poll of at least five people by asking the following questions. Evaluate each answer and decide whether you would consider it as hedonic or eudaimonic, and record it in the table. Finally, answer the question below the table in 200-350 words.
· What makes you happy?
· Would you say you are living “the good life?” Why or why not?
· If you could make any changes you wished that would make you happier, what would those be?
Write a summary of your results. What common beliefs about happiness were evident in your results?

Calculate the percentage to be added to direct advertising costs to recover overhead costs under activity-based costin

In your readings this module, you were introduced to Activity-Based Costing or ABC. It is a method used to determine a reliable predetermined benchmark for the allocation of overhead costs to the products produced based on their activity levels.
Tasks:
Examine the case below and then…
Calculate the amount of overhead allocated to small and large advertising campaigns under existing methods.
Apply activity-based costing to calculate the cost per cost driver for each of the cost pools.
Use the costs per cost driver to calculate the activity-based overhead applicable to small and large campaigns.
Calculate the percentage to be added to direct advertising costs to recover overhead costs under activity-based costing.
Merit-o-cracy PLC is a specialist advertising agency. It has been long-established but is experiencing difficulties in winning new business. The Chief Executive believes that its pricing methods are leading to the loss of large customer advertising campaigns while it is consistently winning smaller business.
Merit-o-cracy costs work for pricing purposes on the basis of direct advertising costs (i.e. space or time purchased from newspapers, radio and TV) plus 100%. The 100% is intended to cover all the overheads of the business, which run at $2 million per year. It does not include any profit margin. This budget cost comprises:
Creative staff $500,000
Production staff $750,000
Administrative & support staff $300,000
Rental and associated costs $450,000
Merit-o-cracy classifies its advertising campaigns as either small or large. Of the 350 campaigns the agency wins, about 325 are classified as small. A typical small advertising campaign incurs direct advertising costs of $4,000 each (and therefore is allocated $4,000 of overheads under current methods). The other 25 advertising campaigns are large and incur direct advertising costs of $28,000 each.
Merit-o-cracy’s accountant has heard of activity-based costing. After speaking to the management team, she has gathered information on the most common causes of costs. She believes that creative staff costs are linked to the number of advertising campaigns the agency competes for. Production staff costs are related to the number of advertising campaigns the agency wins. Administrative and support staff costs are related to the number of customers the agency has. Rental and associated costs are people-based and as a similar number of staff is employed in each of the three departments, the costs should be equally shared.
The accountant has also collected data on the activity levels in each of the three departments over the budget period. These are:
Creative
800 advertising campaigns the agency bids for
400 of these are bids for large campaigns and 400 for small campaigns
Production
350 advertising campaigns the agency wins
325 of these are small campaigns and 25 large campaigns
Admin & support
400 customers the agency services
300 of these are customers with small campaigns and 100 have large campaigns
Your response should be thorough and address all components of the posted question in detail, include citations of all sources, where needed, according to APA style, and demonstrate accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation

The Making a Differential Diagnosis assignment

Prior to beginning work on this assignment, please read Chapter 1: Differential Diagnosis Step by Step in DSM-5: Handbook of Differential Diagnosis and review the same case study you used to write your Weeks One and Two discussion forums and Week Three Assignment.
For this assignment, you will create a differential diagnosis for the patient in your chosen case. This assignment continues the work you started in the Weeks One and Two discussion forums and the Week Three assignment. Be sure to follow the instructions in Chapter 1: Differential Diagnosis Step by Step when creating your differential diagnosis. Your assignment must include the following:
Patient is 17 wth symptoms of Anorexia Nervosa. She is at school on a atheltic scholorship and is working hard to keep grades up to maintain and make mom happy and to keep her weight down for performance when running. She is then confronted about recent weight gain by her coach who stated it was hurting her performance. Coach suggested eating habit changes and workouts. Julia folled his suggestions and lost the weight but kept depriving herself of proper meals and lost weight drastically. She would eat alone or lie to friends about why she wasnt at lunch. A friend told her mom and her mom spoke with dean. Dean contacted her and said until u go get checked out at medical u can nor run or practice with team. So she made appointment and here we are.

Recommend a diagnosis based on the patient’s symptoms, presenting problems, and history.
Assess the validity of your diagnosis using a sociocultural perspective.
Compare at least one evidence-based and one non-evidence-based treatment option for the diagnosis. Research a minimum of two peer-reviewed sources to support your choices.
Propose and provide an explanation for a minimum of two historical perspectives and two theoretical orientations that are inappropriate alternates for the conceptualizations in this case.

Must include a separate title page with the following:

Title of paper
Student’s name
Course name and number
Instructor’s name

The process of DSM-5 differential diagnosis can be broken down into six basic steps: 1) ruling out Malingering and Factitious Disorder, 2) ruling out a substance etiology, 3) ruling out an etiological medical condition, 4) determining the specific primary disorder(s), 5) differentiating Adjustment Disorder from the residual Other Specified and Unspecified conditions, and 6) establishing the boundary with no mental disorder. A thorough review of this chapter provides a useful framework for understanding and applying the decision trees presented in the next chapter.
