Needs Analysis Section 1 – Analysis of the Sport & Intake Interview (20%) The sport-orientated component of this section should look at the specific demands or requirements of that sport from a biomechanical, physiological and psychological perspective. The athlete-orientated component of the this section should relate directly to the athlete with whom you are consulting and should assess their background in the sport, playing level, goals and aspirations as well as current status as an athlete (i.e. post injury, looking to play at a higher level, looking to improved specific aspects i.e. strength, speed, power) via a brief intake interview.
Section 2: Biomechanical Needs Analysis (20%) Based upon your identification of the biomechanical demands of the sport and the athletes needs of your chosen sport you should: Overview relevant testing procedures that would apply to your athlete within the context of the analysis of needs of the athlete. Select the test that you as an Applied Sport and Exercise Scientist believe to be the most relevant biomechanical testing intervention / screening measure / performance test for your athlete. Provide an evidence based rationale for the selection of this test and explain its importance / impact for your chosen athlete. Provided a detailed description of what the test entails and how the test would be conducted. Review the type of outcome measures / data variables that you would measure using the relevant tests. Please note: you can consider either laboratory-based or field-based tests, but you must ensure that the test addresses the biomechanical (kinematic or kinetic) outcomes of the athlete. You are not limited to the tests that were discussed in the biomechanics related lectures or practical sessions. You should use the literature to help you to determine relevant tests or adaptations of tests to suit your specific situation.

Section 4: Psychological Needs Analysis (20%) Based upon your identification of the psychological demands of the sport and the intake interview you should: Provide a brief overview of different methods, techniques or ways of conducting a psychological needs analysis (e.g., interviewing, behavioural observations, and questionnaires). Select a method or technique that you as an Applied Sport and Exercise Scientist believe to be the most suitable to assess the psychological needs of your athlete. You must provide an evidence based rationale for the selection of this method or technique. Provided a detailed description of the method or technique and how it could be used to assess the needs of your client. Section 5: Electronic Athlete / Coach Report (20%): You should select ONE of the assessments that you have researched and outlined previously and conduct this with your athlete. You can select either the BIOMECHANICS, PHYSIOLOGY or PSYCHOLOGY assessment. As an Applied Sport and Exercise Scientist, you will often be required to simplify and condense the results of any testing that you have conducted to enable the information to be understood and implemented by a coach / physiotherapist / athlete. You should test the athlete as outlined in the previous section and then provide a 5 slide power-point report for the athletes coach: Slide

3: Should display the results of the test for the athlete Slide
4: Should compare the results of the athlete you have tested with a comparative group of athletes from the literature.

As nurses, we all have a case that defined you as a nurse. This is usually a case with a bad or potential bad outcome. How has this case affected you and your practice? How do you deal with stress? Stress affects all body systems and can make you quite ill. As nurses, we want to take care of our patients, but do we actually take care of ourselves? In this Module, you will be exploring stress and how it effects your job, and life.
Assignment Description
Stress and Nursing Practice Describe the case that defined you as a nurse. What happened, how were you involved? How does this case still affect you and your practice? What steps have you taken to overcome the stress of this event? (Remember to protect patient privacy). Explain the importance of debriefings. Are they used in your workplace? If a debriding would happen who would be involved, what would be discussed, who would lead the debriefing, where would it take place? Are debriefing possible at your workplace and would they help nurses deal with stress?
