complete Part III of your Immersion Project.

n your course text Cultural Diversity you have explored many different written interviews that provide insight into the demographics, worldview, and treatment issues that face different groups. For part of your Immersion Project, you will select an individual from your chosen population group with which to have an information-gathering dialogue.
This week, you should complete Part III of your Immersion Project.
Part III:
Personal Dialogue: You will need to gather information about the lived experience of a person from your selected population/group. You will gather this information through a dialogue with someone from your selected population. This is called a dialogue (not an interview) because it is not simply a one-sided gathering of information. The dialogue should be a two-sided conversation that results in the exchange of information about cultural experience. This dialogue can happen over time or in a one-time sitting.

Aaliyah continues to struggle with balancing her work hours and her schoolwork. She has been drinking coffee to help her stay awake, but it is no longer working. She has an exam coming up and needs to stay up to study.
Aaliyah decides to take an amphetamine to stay awake to study for the exam. She promises herself that she will only take it this one time for the exam. The drug allows her to stay awake and alert while she is studying for the exam. She also feels that she is learning the material better as a result of the amphetamine. When the grades are in, Aaliyah receives an A on her work.
As the semester continues, Aaliyah turns to amphetamines more and more often to help her stay awake to complete her schoolwork. Soon, Aaliyah finds that one pill no longer keeps her awake as long as she needs.
She starts taking more than one pill at a time. She knows that taking amphetamines so often is not good for her health, and she finds she experiences an increase in headaches when she takes them, but she continues to take them because they are helping her be successful in school and at work.
Based on the case study, prepare a paper that addresses the following:

Examine the change in amphetamine use and abuse in the U.S. from the 1950s to the present.
Explain to which schedule amphetamines belong and why they are on the Schedule of Controlled Substances.
Explain the effects Aaliyah might be experiencing as a result of her regular amphetamine use. Be sure to include:

Acute effects, chronic effects, and withdrawal

Effects on physiology (brain and body), behavior, mood, and toxicity

Give at least three indications from the case study suggesting there may be a problem with Aaliyah’s substance use. That is, describe at least three likely behaviors that Aaliyah is likely to exhibit if she is misusing amphetamines.

ASSIGNMENT NEEDS TO BE PARAPHASE REWRITE ASSIGNMENT OVER

For this week’s discussion, I chose to review scenario I of our course text. I determined that the researchers were unable to conclude that financial bonuses were the source for the increased production due to a confounding variable known as “demand characteristics”. This variable threatens the internal validity of the research scenario because it surmises that members of the uninformed experimental group may have been able to guess at the research hypothesis that was taking place throughout the study. Demand characteristics are defined in the course text as “aspects of the research that allow the participants to guess the research hypothesis”. (Stagnor, 2015). It is my observation that the participants of the uninformed experimental group would have been able to deduce that there were incentives being offered for increased production per the informed experimental group’s actions throughout the research study period. By observing their coworkers, the uninformed would have been able to take notice to their increased production and would have surmised that they were being rewarded for said increase, thereby following suit in order to be rewarded as well.
By using a repeated measures design, instead of structuring the experiment the way it was done so in the scenario I, the researchers would be able to first observe normal production within a control group. Following that they could offer the incentive and then observe whether or not it increased production. This method would hopefully erase the possibility of demand characteristics within the study, allowing for the researchers to draw more direct conclusions about whether or not incentives have a significant impact on production.

Economic policy is a complex but vital part of the United States. To start this forum, take a look at CNBCs explanation of who the Federal Reserve is and what they do.
Now, look through online sources to locate a specific economic policy in effect that you find interesting. It could relate to taxation, user fees, mortgage rates, minimum wage, or anything tied to US economic interest.
Then analyze it using the policy framework we have been discussing. Consider effectiveness, efficiency, ethics, equity, political feasibility, social/cultural feasibility, etc.

What is a myogenic heart? How is this different from a neurogenic heart?

A myogenic heart contracts by itself without any external stimulus, while a neurogenic heart contracts after receiving an external stimulus in the form of a nerve impulse.
##color(green)(MYOGENIC##
Myogenic is the term used for muscles or tissues that can contract on their own, without any external electrical stimulus, from the brain or spinal cord for example.
An example of this phenomena is actually present in our kidneys to regulate the flow of blood in vessels.
Another example is the human heart.
The muscles of the human heart are stimulated to contract by nerve impulses generated by the Sino Atrial(SA) node. It is a cluster of cells which are part of the heart muscle.
Hence the human heart is myogenic. It does not require nerves to start contracting, it can contract on its own . There are nerves supplied to the heart but they only change the rate of heartbeat and cannot initiate muscle contraction.
The impulse from the SA Node, which is just an electric current, then goes down a path through the heart, stimulating the contraction of each muscle in turn as shown here in dark red lines:
##color(white)(xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx## ##color(green)(NEUROGENIC##
Neurogenic is the term used to describe a muscle or tissue that requires an external electrical stimulus to start contracting.
As an interesting side point: Crustaceans have neurogenic hearts.
Here comes our Neurogenic friend the lobster:
“SNIP SNIP”!
